How do I get a library card?
- If you are a resident of Lebanon or West Lebanon, bring something containing your name and address to either library to get a card at no charge such as a driver’s license, a lease agreement, a piece of mail received at your residence. All students enrolled in Lebanon Schools as well as Lebanon College are eligible for a free card (please bring your school ID.)
- If you are a non-resident, you may purchase a card for $60.00 per year, $50.00 for seniors (over 60 years old.) You may also purchase a card for 6 months for a fee of $35.00.
Are Lebanon Public and Kilton Public both part of the same library system?
- Yes. Materials may be sent from one building to the other via our courier so you may request to pick up Lebanon books at Kilton and vice versa. Also, you may return items at either location.

How long can I check out items?
- DVDs circulate for 1 week
- All other items circulate for 3 weeks
What are the overdue fines?
- DVDs : $1.00 per day, with a 5.00 cap per DVD.
- All other items $0.10 per day, with a $1.00 cap per item.
- There is a $10.00 maximum fine for each card at any one time.
Can we eat and drink in the libraries?
- You may eat and drink in the café area of the Kilton Public Library. Covered drinks are allowed at both buildings with the exception of the public internet stations.
Do the libraries have wi fi?
- Yes. No special password is needed to access it.
Do both libraries have public internet computers?
- Yes. You are allowed 2 half-hour sessions per day with a 2 hour break in between sessions.
Can I print from the public computers?
- Yes. The cost is $0.25 per page to help defray the cost of the ink cartridges
How long can I use a computer?
- 2 sessions of ½ hour each with a break of at least 2 hours in between. If you need longer, you may sign up for the Word Processing Computer at the Lebanon Library.
Do both libraries have photocopiers?
- Yes. The charge for photocopies is $0.10 per page.
Do the libraries have faxes for public use?
- No.
Does the library have a notary public?
- No, but City Hall has one available.
Are there community bulletin boards at the libraries?
- Yes. Any Not-For-Profit organization may use them.
Do the libraries have study rooms?
- There is a tutorial room available at the Kilton Public Library. You may reserve it in advance by calling the library at 603/298-8544.
Do the libraries provide tax forms?
- Yes. They generally come in early in January.
How do I donate to the libraries?
- Donations of materials may be made at either library. We gladly accept 2 boxes of books at any given time. Donations are used at the discretion of the library staff and may be used in our library booksale.

How do I buy a brick for the Kilton Library courtyard?
Do the libraries have copies of Lebanon and West Lebanon High School yearbooks?
- Yes. They are housed at the Lebanon Public Library only.
Do the libraries provide museums passes?
- Yes. They are available at the Lebanon Public Library only and may be reserved by calling 603/448-2459. Currently we have passes to The Fells, The Currier Museum of Art, the MacAuliffe/Shepherd Discovery Center, and VINs. We do not have passes to the Montshire Museum.
How do I request that the library purchase something for the collection?
- Call either library or email library@lebcity.com and ask to make a request for purchase. Not every request is purchased.

- You can use your user ID and pin to access your account on our online catalog. To find out what your User ID and PIN are, call or visit either library.

What is Interlibrary loan?
- ILL is a service wherein you can order a book from any public library in New Hampshire (and some other libraries as well) when our libraries do not own the item.

How can I show my art in the Kilton exhibit space?
- Art work is chosen by the Kilton Library Exhibits committee and decided upon by a unanimous vote. Call the Kilton Library at 298-8544 to contact a member of the Exhibits Committee. Art is selected annually with shows changing three times per year. Work may be submitted to the committee as photographs or on a CD.
