The Project Site
The site for the Kilton Library Project is on a 1.24 acre lot on Main Street in West Lebanon, across from the West Lebanon Library. Funds to purchase the land came from the estate of longtime West Lebanon residents James and Willena Kilton. To supplement the Kilton endowment, a capital campaign is now underway before construction can begin.
Tappe Associates, Inc. of Boston are the project architects. The drawings presented on this page are renderings of the proposed library done by Tappe. The plan calls for a building with 15,000 square feet of space. This will include an outdoor reading garden; ample children's and adult services sections; a large meeting room; an art gallery; and separate library parking.

Kilton Library (Design View From the Circulation Desk)
The Circulation Desk will be located just inside the main entrance of the Kilton Library. It is centrally placed with a browsing and reading area. The auditorium, Children's Room, and computer resources are located nearby.
Kilton Library (Design View From the Front Entrance)
The front entrance to the Kilton Library faces out onto Main Street in West Lebanon. The wide sidewalk allows ample room for patrons coming and going to the library (with library parking in the back!). The front entrance leads directly into the main lobby, centrally located, near to the circulation desk - convenient for checking items out or in! From there, patrons can branch off into the reference area, browse the stacks for fiction and nonfiction, use the Internet, or take the youngsters to the sunbathed, open area of the Children's Room.
Kilton Library (Design View From the Children's Room)
The Kilton Library will be a treasure for children. It offers plenty of space for learning activities, and it is a great place for storytime! Just outside the Children's Room, but protected on library grounds from traffic, is the playground. Come to the new library and help make it a fun place for kids to be!
Kilton Library (Design View from the Reading Porch and Garden)
The reading porch with garden view will undoubtedly be one of the most popular spots at the Kilton Library. Busy patrons will be able to take a little time to sit and read a book or scan a newspaper in a comfortable chair.
